At Home in Bronte, Perspectives & Reflections Public Art Exhibit 2018

Relax and Pull Up A Chair, Make Yourself At Home in Bronte 2018

The Muskoka Chairs are coming back!

Due to overwhelming demand from residents and visitors last year, the At Home in Bronte, Perspectives & Reflections Public Art Exhibit is coming back to Bronte Village.

This outdoor art exhibit, launched July 1st   at Oakville’s Canada Day 2017 struck a chord with its 67 uniquely designed Muskoka chairs, painted by Oakville artists, families, organizations and businesses. These colourful masterpieces were placed on the Bronte Boardwalk, in Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park and on the Pier for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.

The Bronte BIA is inviting artists, BIA members, community groups and corporate groups the opportunity to get involved and paint 60 chairs for this summer!

Would you like to Pull Up A Chair and be part of the 2018 outdoor exhibit?

The exhibit runs from June through Thanksgiving 2018.

Testimonials from last year:

“On a recent trip over from London UK to Bronte I noticed all the painted Muskoka chairs on the pier. I loved the vibrant colour and varied nature of their subjects and depicted causes. As I walked down the length of the pier I took a photo of each. Looking back at my trip it was something that stood out and I liked the look of them laid out in a grid. A new Bronte fan.”    –   Nico Engelbrecht

"Hi there hope you are enjoying a good summer.   Just wanted to say a huge thank you to whoever made the decision of the 66 Muskoka Chairs.   They are wonderful and are really appreciated. I saw a sign that explained about them,   but it says they are only there until Labour Day.  I think they should stay until Thanksgiving, give us all a good chance to enjoy them after the kids are back in school. Anyway Kudos for the way the waterfront looks this year.   It’s wonderful. –   Myra Davidson

"Just a quick note of congratulations!  Though a bit tardy, I must commend you on the lovely colourful chairs in and about the Harbour and butterfly gazebo.  This initiative has made the waterfront area much more inviting and engages visitors and residents alike. Thank you and the BIA for your efforts in enhancing this very beautiful part of Bronte and Oakville!  Well done!”     –   Susan Sheppard
