TRAFALGAR DAY at Bronte's historical SOVEREIGN HOUSE
Celebrate the origin of our place names with hot apple cider or tea and Victory rum cake.
Admission is FREE. Donations most appreciated.
Art is displayed by outdoorsman Don Morrison. Don will also be presenting a slide show from his travels in the Canadian wilderness at 2 and at 3pm.
2008 marks two-hundred and fifty years since the birth of Horatio Nelson. the name 'Bronte" and several other local place names own their origin to the life and exploits of ths hero and celebrity of another era. We will celebrate Nelson's life on sunday, October 19 at Sovereign House from 1-4pm.
Visit Sovereign House on Bronte Bluffs overlooking Bronte Beach & Lake Ontario for Trafalgar Day.
Time: 1:00pm - 4:00p.m. Join in the celebration and take one last look as the exhibit rooms close for the season.
Visit the wonderful Fishermen's Memorial on the pathway to Bronte Pier and Lighthouse. You might be lucky enough to catch local history buff Ken Pollock tell you all about Bronte's historic roots as a commercial fishing village.
